Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Qusai Kamal Al-Din Al-Ahmadi, President of the University of Mosul, and under the supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Wissam Nemat Ibrahim Al-Saadi, Dean of the Faculty of Law, our college held on Tuesday, the first of July 2023, in cooperation with the Nineveh Elections Office and the Tahrir Society for Development, an educational seminar entitled Voter Register, Procedures for Receiving the Voter Card and Procedures for Losing the Card, which began with a speech by Dr. Wissam Nemat Ibrahim Al-Saadi, in which he welcomed the honorable attendance of researchers, academics, representatives of civil society organizations and its various segments, in addition On the faculty’s scientific and administrative staff, praising the role of the Independent High Electoral Commission in communicating with state departments and institutions and working to spread the culture related to the electoral process, thanking those in charge of this seminar aimed at addressing all issues related to the requirements of the voter register and the life changes that occur to the voter, pointing to the continuous communication between our dog and the Independent High Electoral Commission, which culminated in the establishment of many scientific, cultural and community activities.Aimed at introducing the role of the Commission in the context of its communication with the University of Mosul and the Faculty of Law, directing his deep appreciation for the distinguished efforts that culminated in the establishment of this symposium, then Mr. Ahmed Salbi Al-Jughaifi, Director of the Training Office at the Nineveh Elections Office, gave a lecture that began with a welcoming speech to the Presidency of the University of Mosul and the College of Law, appreciating the interactive role of the University of Mosul in the context of its openness to society, in advance of his deep appreciation to the Deanship of the Faculty of Law in opening fruitful cooperative horizons with the Nineveh Elections Office, then the audience read Surah Al-Fatiha on the souls of the martyrs of Iraq and the martyrs of the Independent High Electoral Commission Then the founding and practical history of the Electoral Commission within the framework of the laws and legislation in force was addressed, referring to the Board of the Commission and its members and its role in the electoral process, indicating the importance of the biometric registration system for voters as the necessary basis under which the voter can obtain the long-term electoral card that bears the image that is prepared under government decisions The fifth official document, pointing to the end of the old card , On the other hand, the importance of updating voter data under the specified mechanism and the permissible period of time was demonstrated, and reference was made to the procedures to be followed by the displaced for the purpose of obtaining the electoral card with reference to their polling stations and clarification of the steps to be followed in the event of the loss of the card, and the seminar witnessed the presence of the staff of the Commission and its working cadres, which expressed their immediate readiness to provide any service to any citizen related to the electoral card and its updates, noting that the Commission continues its work on For her part, Mrs. Lina Ador Hanna, Project Manager of the Development Liberation Association, gave her speech, in which she explained their role in supporting the Independent High Electoral Commission, contributing to the public and community definition of the importance of elections, which is one of the basic rights guaranteed to the citizen. In conclusion, the Dean of the College gave a speech in which he expressed his deep respect and appreciation to those in charge of this symposium, stressing the readiness of our college to provide its scientific, practical and academic support to the Independent High Electoral Commission and the rest of the departments and institutions of the state and civil society organizations in the context of their interaction with society of various segments, then the honorable attendees directed many questions and inquiries on the subject of the symposium that were answered in detail by those in charge of it, and this symposium comes within a series of scientific, cultural, academic and student activities of our college during The current academic year 2022-2023.
