International Youth Day

On the twelfth of August 1999, the United Nations General Assembly adopted this day of each year as an international day for young people around the world, and the international organization aims to highlight the importance of youth participation in societies to achieve the goals of sustainable development by making young people active partners in the process of building and developing societies through real participation in the development of future policies, and this day is an occasion to raise global and national awareness of the challenges facing youth groups. all over the world to develop real mechanisms to support young people and enable them to bring about the desired positive change in their communities.

The UNESCO Chair at the University of Mosul pays great attention to youth issues and seeks, through the International Youth Day, to achieve a set of goals in line with its mission to promote a culture of peace and community building by emphasizing the importance of youth participation in the process of developing societies and listening to their ideas through a variety of cultural and awareness activities that aim to highlight youth achievements and the great skills and capabilities enjoyed by the youth category and highlight On the inspiring success stories because of their pioneering role in the progress of nations and their advancement towards bright and promising future prospects pervading security and peace.
