Promoting a higher diploma in the branch of human rights law on constitutional recognition of the right to the environment,,,
On Sunday, November 19, 2023, the Human Rights Law Branch at the College of Law at the University of Mosul discussed a higher diploma research on the constitutional recognition of the right to the environment. Part of it was attended by Assistant Professor Dr. Wissam Nemat Ibrahim Al-Saadi, Dean of the College, and a number of members of the College Council and its teachers.
The research presented by researcher Alia Abdul-Jabbar Younis in the branch of human rights law dealt with the environment, which is the natural and vital environment in which living organisms and other creatures live. Given its importance, most state constitutions have stipulated its protection, directly or indirectly, as the basis of the right to protect the environment is divided into: Two parts: protecting the right from pollution and its harms and preserving the general natural ecological system.
The research aims to show that explicit recognition of the right to enjoy a balanced environment is a personal right of a constitutional nature, legal definition, and judicial protection before ordinary courts. An explicit text is considered the best protection because it constitutes the legal framework for protecting the environment.
The discussion committee was chaired by Assistant Professor Dr. Bedaa Abdel-Jawad Muhammad, the membership of the teacher was Dr. Saad Salem Sultan, and the membership and supervision of the assistant professor was Dr. Rafal Hassan Hamed.
