Discussion panel

Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Qusay Kamal Al-Din Al-Ahmadi, President of the University of Mosul, and under the supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Wissam Nemat Ibrahim Al-Saadi, Dean of the College of Law at the University of Mosul, and the members of the College Council, a number of teaching staff in the Human Rights Law branch participated on Monday, December 11, 2023, and in cooperation with the Community Center for the Revival Initiative. The Spirit of Mosul, the Northern Technical University and UNESCO participated in the discussion session entitled (Violence against women between causes and effects), where the episode discussed violence against women, its causes and motives, preventive measures to reduce it and ways to address it, considering that it represents a blatant violation of the rights of women in particular and society in general. It was also discussed To the importance of spreading community awareness and culture of women’s rights and freedoms of all kinds, while emphasizing the necessity of activating legal protection for the individual, the importance of equal opportunities and social justice, developing effective strategies, and activating the role of social researchers in educational institutions to establish a calm society free of various types of violence, regardless of the party it is directed towards. The seminar witnessed a distinguished presence of academics, researchers, those interested in legal affairs, and representatives of civil society organizations, in addition to student participation in field activities that support women and their rights. At the conclusion of the seminar, the attendees asked many questions and inquiries about the topic of the seminar, which were answered in detail by those in charge of it.
