The Iraqi Ministry of Migration and Displacement holds its first conference in Sulaymaniyah Governorate to support the return of the displaced and discuss stability in the areas of return,,,
In implementation of the directives of the Prime Minister, Engineer Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani, and the decision to close the camps and completely end the displacement file on next July 30, and under the slogan (Transforming from the pain of displacement to the hope of return), and in the presence of the Governor of Sulaymaniyah, a number of members of its local government, and security, governmental, and community figures from the Nineveh and Salah governorates. Al-Din, Anbar, Diyala, and Babylon, in addition to representatives of international and local organizations. Assistant Professor Dr. Wissam Nemat Ibrahim Al-Saadi, Dean of the College of Law at the University of Mosul, and Assistant Professor Dr. Suhaib Khaled Jassim, one of the teaching staff of the Human Rights Law Branch in our college, participated in the work of the first conference of the Iraqi Ministry of Immigration and Displacement, which was held in Sulaymaniyah Governorate. To support the return of the displaced people living in the camps, the conference discussed the challenges that prevent some displaced families from returning to their original areas of residence, while working to prepare the appropriate ground for the return and learning about the reality of the services provided to citizens in the liberated areas, as well as clarifying the mechanisms and programs prepared by the Ministry that aim to help These families and provide them with a decent living while supporting their stability in the areas of return. The representative of His Excellency the Minister/Undersecretary of the Ministry of Immigration and Displacement also touched on the necessity of joining all efforts to end the displacement file while ensuring the safe return of all displaced people after there is no longer a need for them to be in the camps thanks to the stability achieved in the areas of return with Addressing the negative effects left by displacement. The conference came out with a number of recommendations that were submitted to the concerned authorities. The participation of our college in the work of the above conference represents its interactive role in the context of its communication with official institutions, international and local organizations interested in the displacement file, in addition to community figures, in a way that contributes to achieving stability on All levels and the resulting plans and programs contribute to accelerating the development process and the resulting results that play a role in programs of progress and prosperity.
