Educational Seminar on the Law Banning the Baath Party, Entities, Parties, and Racist and Terrorist Activities No. 32 of 2016,,,
Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Qusay Kamal Al-Din Al-Ahmadi, President of the University of Mosul, and under the supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Wissam Nemat Ibrahim Al-Saadi, Dean of the College of Law at the University of Mosul, and in cooperation with the Department of Political Parties and Organizations Affairs at the Independent High Electoral Commission, our college held an educational seminar on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, on the Law Banning the Baath Party, Entities, Parties, and Racist and Terrorist Activities No. 32 of 2016, where both the head of the Legal and Complaints Division and the representative of the Political Parties and Organizations Affairs Division at the Independent High Electoral Commission gave lectures in which the mechanism of work of the Independent High Electoral Commission and its administrative divisions were explained and clarified, with an explanation of the paragraphs and content of the Law Banning the Baath Party, Entities, Parties, and Racist and Terrorist Activities No. 32 of 2016, stating the objectives of the above law, which emphasized preventing the Baath Party from returning to power and participating in political life And assuming special job grades and running for membership in parliamentary councils and the media, the law also emphasized the prohibition of entities and organizations that adopt ideas and ideologies that conflict with the principles of Islam, the constitution and the peaceful transfer of power, as well as those that adopt the principles of racism, hatred and sectarianism. The law also prohibits criminal acts against individuals and property, forced displacement and depriving citizens of the rights stipulated by law. The seminar lectures also clarified the body authorized to implement the provisions of the law, represented by the Department of Party Affairs in the Independent High Electoral Commission, which monitors the work of political parties, with a statement of the approved work mechanism in the event of detecting any violation of the provisions of the above law, including summoning the violating person according to legally specified procedures and the possibility of cooperating with government departments to request any information, as well as cooperating with security agencies to implement the provisions of this law, with reference to the penalties specified by the law against violators of its provisions and the agencies authorized to impose them. Then, Dr. Wissam Nemat Ibrahim Al-Saadi, Dean of the Faculty of Law, delivered his speech in which he welcomed the honorable guests, appreciating their distinguished role in participating in the work of the above seminar, deeply directing He thanked them and expressed his deep gratitude to them. Then, the honorable attendees, including researchers and legal experts, asked many questions and inquiries about the topic of the symposium, which were answered in detail by those in charge of it. Then, the Dean of the College distributed certificates of appreciation to the lecturers. This symposium comes within a series of scientific, research, cultural and community activities for our college during the current academic year 2023-2024.
