Based on the letter of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research No. 35340/5/5 dated 10/16/2024 (Commemorating the Speicher Martyrs) and the keenness of the Deanship of the College of Law at the University of Mosul to apply legal standards and foundations to facts and crimes with societal dimensions that bear a local and international nature and for the purpose of shedding light on the victims of the Speicher crime committed by the terrorist organization ISIS and the position of international humanitarian law and international human rights law, a meeting of the working group was held in our college on Thursday, November 7, 2024, headed by Dr. Wissam Nimat Ibrahim Al-Saadi, Dean of the College, which included a number of professors and instructors from our college from various specializations, in which the role of our college, its plans and programs in holding scientific workshops, training courses, discussion groups and conferences were discussed, in addition to hosting community and scientific figures from various specializations and in various fields of science, exploring ways and means that would enhance government efforts to remove the effects of the heinous Speicher base crime,,,,
The crime that It is a shame for humanity, and it has claimed the lives of young people and citizens at the beginning of their lives and careers. The above team also discussed the means to consider the above crime an international crime in accordance with international laws, instruments and treaties.
