Scientific Seminar on Legal Protection of the Environment and Its Impact on Achieving Sustainable Development Goals,,,
Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Qusay Kamal Al-Din Al-Ahmadi, President of the University of Mosul, and under the supervision and attendance of Assistant Professor Dr. Wissam Nimat Ibrahim Al-Saadi, Dean of the College of Law and the members of the College Council, the Central Committee for Sustainable Development, in cooperation with the Continuing Education Unit in our college, held on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, a scientific seminar entitled Legal Protection of the Environment and Its Impact on Achieving Sustainable Development Goals, which began with a speech by Dr. Wissam Nimat Ibrahim Al-Saadi, Dean of the College / Chairman of the Sustainable Development Committee, who welcomed the honorable attendees at the beginning, indicating the importance of this seminar as it addresses a very important issue represented by sustainable development, indicating the role of the college in supporting sustainable development programs, extending his sincere thanks and appreciation to the head and members of the preparatory committee and the researchers. Then a video presentation was presented that included the college’s activities and programs in the field of sustainable development, then the scientific session began under the management of Professor Dr. Khalaf Ramadan Muhammad, Assistant Dean For Scientific Affairs, who opened the session with a speech in which he expressed his appreciation and respect for the Deanship of the College, praising its role in establishing and supporting activities and events that address vital activities, reviewing the scientific achievements, research and studies presented by the College’s staff and students, which addressed in their content the treatment and research of sustainable development issues. The above session witnessed the presentation of a number of research papers that addressed the role of climate action in achieving sustainable development and international efforts to confront the phenomenon of global warming and environmental pollution from the perspective of criminal law and the right to the environment and the role of scientific research in achieving it and compensation for environmental damage and environmental error and its impact on sustainable development and environmental administrative bodies and their role in achieving sustainable development and green tax and the environmental dimension in sustainable development and applications of artificial intelligence in the environmental field. Then the attendees, including researchers, academics, lecturers, and those interested in legal and environmental affairs and students, asked many questions and inquiries about the topic of the symposium, which were answered in detail by those in charge of it. Then the Dean of the College and the Assistant Dean for Administrative and Financial Affairs distributed certificates of appreciation to the President And to the members of the Preparatory Committee and researchers, in appreciation and recognition of their distinguished efforts made in holding this activity, which comes within a series of scientific, cultural, student and academic activities for our college during the current academic year 2024-2025.
