UN Climate Change Training Course

Assistant Professor Dr. Wissam Nemat Ibrahim Al-Saadi, Dean of the College of Law at the University of Mosul, participated in the proceedings of the training course launched by the United Nations and dedicated to governments, representatives of international organizations, academics and stakeholders in environmental issues. The necessary requirements for passing the course specialized in climate negotiation mechanisms were completed and participants were granted certificates of participation and passing the above course, which embodies part of the ongoing interest in climate challenges issues as topics of global interest. The course witnessed discussions regarding mastering international climate negotiations:
Everything you need to know, which is an electronic course designed to guide participants through the complex landscape of global climate negotiations as the twenty-ninth Conference of the Parties approaches. It is worth noting that the above course was established under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change and the Youth Climate Team of the UAE Presidency of the twenty-eighth Conference of the Parties, which makes the principles of international climate negotiations more accessible, especially for newcomers and youth delegates, with a focus on simplifying often complex topics. The course also covers key topics within the framework of the United Nations Convention Framework Convention on Climate Change such as the mechanisms for implementing the Paris Agreement and the Convention that influence the policies and decisions that shape climate action around the world, and Mastering International Negotiations is not only about learning but also about empowerment as it emphasizes empowering youth in the negotiation process and supporting meaningful and equal participation through 12 fun and engaging video-based lessons, participants gained crucial insights into the UNFCCC process and the associated acquisition of the theoretical foundation and practical knowledge to participate effectively in climate negotiations (Youth have repeatedly emphasized that capacity building is a key priority for their effective participation during our Global Youth Consultations and this partnership responds to this clearly identified need, and the collaboration of COP28, UNFCCC and UNITAR in climate education demonstrates our commitment to empowering the next generation and promoting their active participation in addressing the global climate crisis)
