The Universal Declaration of Human Rights on December 10, 1948
– The Declaration included 30 articles in addition to the preamble,
– The Declaration referred to civil and political rights as well as economic, social and cultural rights alike
– Human rights were linked within the 2030 Development Plan by focusing on the most prominent of these rights such as the right to health, quality education, gender equality, clean energy and reducing inequality, and the 2030 Plan focuses on implementation at the national level where member states take the initiative by adapting the plan to suit their national needs.
– The plan adopts new methods of partnerships with relevant stakeholders represented by giving a greater role to civil society, the private sector, and other partners in the field of development.
