A scientific guidance workshop on combating drugs and their risks to security and society,,,
Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Wahid Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, President of the University of Mosul, and under the supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Wissam Nemat Ibrahim Al-Saadi, Dean of the College of Law, the Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit in our college held a scientific workshop on Monday, February 10, 2025, entitled Combating Drugs and Their Risks to Security and Society, which witnessed the presentation of Assistant Professor Dr. Osama Ahmed Muhammad’s research paper entitled Criminal Confrontation of Drug Abuse in Iraqi Law, in which he addressed the concept of narcotic substances and abuse under the provisions of Iraqi legislation, which generally means any substance that results in a total or partial loss of awareness temporarily and causes a lethargy in the body that makes a person live in a fantasy. The paper also addressed the types of drugs that may be natural or artificial, with a statement of the concept of abuse, its causes and its repercussions on the individual, family and society. Assistant Professor Dr. Taha Saleh Khalaf also presented his research paper entitled The Impact of Drug Abuse on Personal Status Issues and Its Impact and Relationship to Issues Related to Marriage, Competence and Guardianship And separation, custody, breastfeeding and acknowledgment of lineage, as Professor Falah Mahdi Saleh presented the research paper entitled Scientific and educational methods to reduce the phenomenon of drug abuse and the resulting stability at the family and societal levels due to the means used that contribute to eliminating this phenomenon, and the above workshop witnessed a distinguished student presence who directed many questions and inquiries about its topic, which were answered in detail by those in charge of it, and in conclusion, the Deanship of the College honored the researchers with certificates of appreciation in appreciation of their efforts made in holding this activity, which comes within a series of scientific, research, cultural and student activities for our college during the current academic year 2024-2025.
