Scientific workshop on the problems of divorce – risks and causes

Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Wahid Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, President of the University of Mosul, and under the supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Wissam Nemat Ibrahim Al-Saadi, Dean of the College of Law, and in the presence of Professor Dr. Muhammad Siddiq Muhammad Abdullah, Assistant Dean for Scientific and Student Affairs, and a number of members of the College Council and its lecturers, and with the follow-up of Professor Dr. Ayser Issam Daoud, Head of the Private Law Branch, the above branch, in cooperation with the Continuing Education Unit, held its scientific workshop on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, entitled Problems of Divorce – Risks and Causes, which witnessed the presentation of Assistant Professor Dr. Qais Abdul-Wahhab Issa, Head of the Preparatory Committee, his research paper entitled Causes and Risks of Divorce, during which he addressed the economic, social and legislative reasons leading to divorce and the opinions of Muslim jurists on the classification of divorce in terms of restriction and release, and proposed a set of proposals, including the legislation of marriage licenses to reduce divorce cases, then Assistant Professor Dr. Nashwan Zaki Suleiman presented his research paper entitled Efficiency and its impact on the increase in divorce cases that He touched upon the importance of compatibility between men and women in the subject of marriage, which indicates the importance of equality between men and women in the subject of marriage with regard to some qualities in a way that leads to not inflicting a shame on women and their guardians from this marriage. The majority of Muslim jurists considered compatibility a legitimate issue for the stability of married life. Then, the attendees, including researchers, academics, teachers, and those interested in legal affairs and students, asked many questions and inquiries about the topic of the workshop, which were answered in detail by those in charge of it. Then, the head and members of the preparatory committee and researchers were honored with certificates of appreciation in appreciation of their efforts in holding this workshop, which comes within a series of scientific, research, cultural and student activities for the Private Law Branch during the current academic year 2024-2025.
