A scientific workshop on women’s participation in volunteer work in implementation of the principle of equality,,,
Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Wahid Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, President of the University of Mosul, and under the supervision and attendance of Assistant Professor Dr. Wissam Nemat Ibrahim Al-Saadi, Dean of the College of Law, and a number of members of the College Council, in addition to the college’s scientific and administrative staff and female and community cadres, the Continuing Education Unit, in cooperation with the Women’s Affairs Unit at the Presidency of the University of Mosul, held a scientific workshop entitled Women’s Participation in Voluntary Work in Implementation of the Principle of Equality on Sunday, February 16, 2025. The workshop aims to demonstrate the vital and distinctive role of women in societal, scientific and cultural fields, including volunteer work, while emphasizing their effective role by contributing to achieving equality and consolidating the values of justice and fairness. The workshop witnessed the presentation of a number of research papers that addressed the obstacles facing women in volunteer work, with reference to the types of obstacles that may be personal, social, economic, organizational and administrative. The workshop also showed the effects of women’s participation in volunteer work, with a statement The importance of participation and its direct effects on the family and societal levels, as well as the positive impact of consolidating the values of solidarity and cooperation and the negative impact related to the economic aspect. The workshop also included a review of the practical aspect of women’s participation in volunteer work, stating their role in volunteer work at the societal level in Nineveh Governorate and providing a detailed explanation of the differential and complementary relationships between women and men. The attendees showed a distinctive interaction on the topic of the workshop through many interventions and questions that were answered in detail by those in charge of it. This workshop comes within a series of scientific, research, cultural and student activities for our college during the current academic year 2024-2025.
