On Thursday, February 27, 2025, the Human Rights Law Branch at the College of Law at the University of Mosul discussed a master’s thesis on the Right of Peoples to Good Governance / A Study in International Human Rights Law, attended by Assistant Professor Dr. Wissam Nemat Ibrahim Al-Saadi, Dean of the College, and a number of members of the College Council and its instructors.
The thesis submitted by the student Muhammad Khalaf Ramadan Muhammad in the Human Rights Law Branch addressed the issue of human rights and the historical conflict between the rulers and the ruled and the sacrifices of peoples to seize their rights and obtain their freedom, reaching the modern era that witnessed the development of human rights in successive generations. The right of peoples to good governance is one of the most important of these rights as it is closely and complementarily related to other rights and democracy.
The message aims to show that human rights are born with birth and the awareness and recognition of these rights took a long journey in human history in addition to the role of ancient civilizations that established some of the pillars of human rights as well as the role of heavenly religions by virtue of their divine source, which had a distinctive role in establishing the pillars of human rights and their components. The discussion committee was chaired by Professor Dr. Sarmed Riyadh Abdul Hadi and the membership of Assistant Professor Dr. Suhaib Khaled Jassim and Assistant Professor Dr. Fares Muhammad Hussein and the membership and supervision of Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus Yahya.
