As part of the ongoing activities of the Central Committee for Sustainable Development at the College of Law at the University of Mosul, and on the occasion of National Afforestation Day, which falls on March 12 of each year, Professor Dr. Muhammad Siddiq Muhammad Abdullah, a lecturer in the Private Law Department and Assistant Dean for Academic and Student Affairs, delivered an awareness lecture directed at undergraduate students. He explained the concept of afforestation and its importance at the environmental, health, cultural, and urban levels, while also highlighting our college’s role in this field. This was embodied by its holding of numerous awareness workshops, discussion groups, scientific research, theses, dissertations, studies, and awareness lectures that addressed the role of the law in supporting afforestation and combating desertification. In addition, it prepared numerous posters that were disseminated among students. Furthermore, the college’s deanship, members of the college council, and its academic and administrative staff contributed to community initiatives and afforestation campaigns aimed at expanding the green area in Nineveh Governorate and reducing desertification. The above contribution is part of our college’s community plans and awareness initiatives. Including activities for the public benefit.
