A specialized scientific lecture in the workshop entitled (Reparations for the Speicher Victims in Light of Iraqi and International Law)
Dr. Saeed Khudaida Al-Sinjari, a lecturer in the Public Law Department at the College of Law at the University of Mosul and Head of the Human Rights Division at the University Presidency, participated on Sunday, April 6, 2025, in the scientific workshop entitled (Reparations for the Speicher Victims in Light of Iraqi and International Law) organized by the College of Agriculture and Forestry at the University of Mosul. The workshop aimed to commemorate the painful Speicher massacre committed against members of our security forces at the Speicher Air Force Camp and the subsequent crimes that targeted various components of the Iraqi people at the hands of the terrorist organization ISIS. It was emphasized that this crime constitutes a gross and flagrant violation of the provisions of Iraqi and international law and is classified as a terrorist crime whose perpetrators were pursued at all levels. The lecture delivered by Dr. Saeed Khudaida also addressed the importance of continuous documentation of this crime and working diligently towards achieving justice and fulfilling the rights of victims and their families. He also pointed out that the crime at the international level These crimes constitute war crimes and crimes against humanity, which necessitates the activation of international efforts to hold terrorist organizations and their financiers accountable within the framework of a global approach aimed at reducing the phenomenon of impunity. The workshop concluded its work by emphasizing the need to preserve the Iraqi national fabric, which represents a unique canvas in which all components work together to protect the homeland that has taught humanity civilization, love, and peace throughout its long history.
