Participation of the College of Law at the University of Mosul in the International Conference “Digital Prevention: Nineveh Shield from Electronic Blackmail”
As part of a series of scientific, research, and academic contributions by members of the College of Law at the University of Mosul, and attended by government, parliamentary, university, and academic figures, Assistant Professor Dr. Ikram Faleh Ahmed, a lecturer in the Public Law Department at our college, participated in the International Scientific Conference “Digital Prevention: Nineveh Shield from Electronic Blackmail” on Tuesday, May 13, 2025. Her participation included an intervention that addressed the importance of activating the deterrent aspect of perpetrators by encouraging the victim/victim to report crimes to government authorities and official bodies through various confidential means, whether through hotlines or by establishing electronic courts specifically for this type of crime, from the time the lawsuit is filed until the verdict is pronounced. This helps avoid social stigma for the victim. The intervention also emphasized the importance of establishing a department within the community police called the Computer Crimes Combating Department.
