Discussion of a doctoral thesis at the College of Law, University of Mosul

On Tuesday morning, October 14, 2025, the College of Law at the University of Mosul discussed the doctoral dissertation submitted by student Ali Ihsan Telli Islam. The dissertation, titled “The Legal System of Fair Wages – A Comparative Study,” was supervised by Professor Dr. Muhammad Siddiq Muhammad Abdullah.

The dissertation addressed the issue of compensating the injured party for lost benefits resulting from the breach or aggression of the person causing the damage and their exploitation of these benefits for their own personal gain. The value of compensation was estimated based on the fair wage at the specified time and place, in accordance with the legal controls that must be taken into account when estimating it.

The study aimed to define the general concept of fair wages, as a concept that has not yet been settled in jurisprudence, the judiciary, or legislation, and to attempt to establish a comprehensive legal framework that clarifies its nature, areas of application, and the mechanisms adopted for its assessment.

The discussion committee consisted of:

• Professor Burk Faris Hussein / Tikrit University / College of Law / Member
• Professor Amer Ashour Abdullah / University of Hamdaniya / College of Law / Member
