Scientific workshop

The Women’s Affairs Committee at the College of Law, University of Mosul, in cooperation with the Women’s Affairs Unit at the University of Mosul Presidency and the Continuing Education Unit at our college, held a scientific workshop entitled “The Impact of Climate Change on Women in Society.” The workshop addressed the most important negative impacts of climate change on women, especially in displacement and migration processes and the accompanying burdens for women, especially if they are accompanied by children. It also addressed local and international policies to confront the phenomenon of climate change and its importance in sustainable development plans and the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. The workshop also highlighted a number of recommendations that focus on the need to pay attention to the environment and climate change and confront the phenomenon of environmental asylum, with its negative effects on the family and society as a whole, especially vulnerable groups such as women and children.
