Condolences

The Dean and staff of the College of Law extend their deepest condolences to the University of Mosul student who was involved in a tragic accident. We wish her a speedy recovery and a safe return to her studies in good health. We assure her and her family of our unwavering support during this difficult time.
Regarding the unwarranted media coverage of the incident, we wish to clarify to the public, our students, and their families that the relevant university authorities acted immediately upon learning of the accident. The student received prompt first aid and was transferred to a specialized hospital for further treatment. The University of Mosul administration is actively investigating the details of the incident, identifying the circumstances that led to it, and implementing the necessary measures to prevent any recurrence.
The Dean’s office emphasizes that the university, of which our college is a part, is primarily an academic and educational institution. Its powers and procedures are defined by its internal regulations and bylaws, and operate within its institutional framework, fully respecting its legal authority. In the event of any unfortunate incident, the university is committed to two parallel tracks: the first is the humanitarian track (caring for the affected student), and the second is the procedural track (investigating and taking appropriate action). Any random or irresponsible accusations made before the results of the official administrative investigation harm the reputation of the educational institution and add nothing to the truth. We urge social media pages and activists to act responsibly, verify information before publishing it, and avoid being swayed by media sensationalism that may be used for non-educational purposes.
In conclusion, we emphasize that the university is a home for everyone, and our highest goal is the safety and health of our students and maintaining a safe learning environment. We pray to God Almighty for the complete recovery of our student, and we ask Him to guide us all to what is best for our students.
