Guidance Seminar

The University Psychological Counseling Division, in cooperation with the University Psychological Counseling Department at the University of Mosul, the Nineveh National Security Directorate, and the Nineveh University Security, held a guidance seminar on “Enhancing Community Awareness of the Dangers of Electronic Blackmail and the Role of Security Agencies in Combating It.” The seminar took place on Monday, December 8, 2025, in the Applied Court Hall. A select group of officers from the National Security Service presented at the workshop.
The presenters addressed the most prominent practices through which citizens are subjected to electronic blackmail, including the hacking of KeyCard and MasterCard accounts. They also discussed the prizes advertised by some online platforms, which act as electronic traps for citizens by enticing them to subscribe as a means of obtaining accurate information about their electronic accounts. Furthermore, the seminar addressed the most important methods for preventing these violations by maintaining digital privacy and handling personal and electronic cards with extreme caution. The symposium concluded with a number of recommendations, emphasizing the importance of not being swayed by offers and incentives from platforms advertising online prizes.
