Research for a higher diploma in the human rights law branch about the guarantees of the accused in the statute of the International Criminal Court

On Tuesday, April 19, 2022, the Human Rights Law Branch at the College of Law at the University of Mosul discussed a higher diploma research on the guarantees of the accused in the statute of the International Criminal Court, part of which was attended by Assistant Professor Dr

The research presented by the student Shaima Rifai Hanawi dealt with the guarantees granted to the accused before the International Court, which is the basis for justice, especially as it involves the most serious crimes in the international community and the most important measures taken against the accused before it as restrictions imposed on the court in order to reach the truth

The study aims to show that the accused is not initially considered a criminal before the court. Therefore, the court assigned him a set of guarantees that included all stages of the trial, the main objective of which is to protect human rights, but it was not sufficient to preserve those rights

The discussion committee was chaired by the assistant professor, Dr. Anas Mahmoud Khalaf, and the membership of the teacher was Dr. Suhad Abdel Jamal Abdul Karim, and the membership and supervision of the assistant professor, Dr. Hala Ahmed Muhammad
