Master’s thesis in human rights law branch on the role of the International Committee of the Red Cross in the post-armed conflict stage_ College of law

The Human Rights Law Branch at the College of Law at the University of Mosul discussed a master’s thesis on the role of the International Committee of the Red Cross in the post-armed conflict phase on Thursday, June 24, 2021. Part of it was attended by Assistant Professor Dr. Muhammad Siddiq Muhammad Abdullah, Associate Dean for Scientific and Student Affairs and Assistant Professor Dr. Luqman Othman Ahmed, head of the Human Rights Law Branch, and a number of members of the college council and its teachers

The letter submitted by the student Ahmed Salah Younis in the branch of human rights law dealt with the International Committee of the Red Cross and the field of its humanitarian work and the legal provisions of the four Geneva Conventions in addition to the strategies approved by the International Committee of the Red Cross towards the development of its tasks and function

The study aims to show that the International Committee of the Red Cross succeeded in proving its ability to enter the various fields of humanitarian work during and after the armed conflict, as this organization was able to develop its tools and reconsider its strategies so that it can enter into additional areas that contribute to enriching its experience and developing its work in managing Post-conflict files on the basis of a balance between their legal nature and the actual need for their participation in those emerging areas

The discussion committee was chaired by Prof. Dr. SalwaHamedMeydan and the membership of Assistant Professor Dr. Raqib Muhammad Jassem and Assistant Professor Dr. Suha Hamid Salim and the membership and supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. WissamNemat Ibrahim Al-Saadi
