In the interest of the Deanship of the College of Law at the University of Mosul for scientific, research and academic communication, and within the activities of the UNESCO Chair at the University of Mosul, and in the presence of Assistant Professor Dr. Wissam Nemat Ibrahim Al-Saadi, Dean of our College, the members of the College Council, the President and members of the Chair at the University of Mosul, and within the joint cooperation program between our university and New York University, he visited Our college on Monday, January 8, 2024, Professor Dr. Thomas Hale, Director of the Peacebuilding Center at New York University, who gave a specialized scientific lecture entitled The Role of Universities in Achieving the Requirements of Peacebuilding, in which he discussed the problems related to peacebuilding, pointing to the universities that are scientific institutions that have a role in providing the requirements. The necessary conditions and pillars have a role in providing a societal environment that has its scientific and cognitive contribution to spreading the culture of peace, which is the basic axis for building a society dominated by an integrated culture with its legal framework and scientific contexts. The honorable guest also reviewed his experiences in the United States of America and in Iraqi universities, and the visit aims to achieve Scientific and research requirements for writing scientific research and academic projects on peacebuilding, noting that the above cooperation project began in March 2023, and the University of Mosul is represented in the above program by Dr. Wissam Nemat Ibrahim Al-Saadi and Dr. Thomas Hale, representing New York University. The above project comes within the endeavors of the University of Mosul and its colleges and centers. Research in openness and communication with national, regional and international universities and scientific institutions in a way that contributes to benefiting from global expertise and harnessing it in scientific advancement and academic development by providing scientific research and specialized studies that have a role in societal development and scientific advancement and obtaining specialized outputs with distinguished cognitive competence. The above activity was attended A number of researchers and academics asked many questions and inquiries about the subject of the lecture, which were answered in detail by those in charge of it. In conclusion, the Deanship of the College presented certificates of appreciation to the honorable guest in appreciation and appreciation for his distinguished role in holding this activity.
