Guidance workshop on effective methods of correct study and methods of strengthening memory

Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Wahid Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, President of the University of Mosul, and under the supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Wissam Nemat Ibrahim Al-Saadi, Dean of the College of Law, and under the management of Professor Dr. Khalaf Ramadan Muhammad, Assistant Dean for Administrative and Financial Affairs, and with the follow-up and attendance of Assistant Professor Dr. Luqman Othman Ahmed, Head of the Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit in our college, the above unit held its qualifying workshop on Sunday, February 9, 2025, entitled Effective Methods of Correct Study and Methods of Strengthening Memory, which began with a speech by Dr. Khalaf Ramadan Muhammad, who welcomed the honorable attendees at the beginning, providing an introductory overview of the workshop, its goals, axes, importance, and its relationship to the scientific process with its three pillars (the instructor, the student, and the scientific material) and the impact of scientific progress and technological development on it, in addition to the conditions created by the Corona pandemic that required treatments that had a direct impact on education in general and e-learning in particular, which is one of the educational means. Then, Dr. Nada Fattah Al-Abayji, Head of Psychological Counseling, presented The Educational Guidance Department at the College of Education for Humanities gave a specialized lecture on the topic of the workshop, explaining the concept of memory and its location in the human mind, its divisions and types (short-term memory and long-term memory), and the role of each in receiving, preserving, storing, and retrieving data, with an explanatory presentation on the relationship between both memories and the human senses, as well as their interactive relationship and their direct connection to public health. The workshop also witnessed an explanation of the optimal study method and how to prepare a suitable study environment, which differs from one person to another, with a statement of the role of visual aids and their impact on comprehension and storage. Then, the attendees, including researchers, academics, teachers, and students, asked many questions and inquiries about the topic of the workshop, which were answered in detail by those in charge of it. In conclusion, Dr. Luqman Othman Ahmed, Head of the Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit, gave a speech in which he praised the efforts made in holding this workshop, extending his deep thanks and appreciation to Dr. Nada Fattah Al-Abayji for her distinguished efforts in the work of the above workshop, which comes within a series of scientific, research, and cultural activities. And the students of our college during the current academic year 2024-2025.
