On Monday, November 10, 2022, the Private Law Branch at the College of Law at the University of Mosul discussed a master’s thesis on marital obedience/a comparative study, part of which was attended by Prof. Munir Salem Taha, Assistant President of the University of Mosul for Scientific Affairs, Assistant Professor Dr. Wissam Nemat Ibrahim Al-Saadi, Dean of the College of Law at the University of Mosul, and a number of members of the Councils of the University of Mosul and the College of Law and its teachers. The letter submitted by the student Sherine Fares Saeed in the private law branch dealt with the relationship between spouses, which is one of the highest human relations because of its privacy and that the purity of this relationship is based on affection and mercy, which is reflected negatively and positively on the family, which is the nucleus of society and pushes its wheel forward. The study aims to show that obedience is of two types, absolute obedience that includes obedience to God Almighty and His Noble Messenger, and restricted obedience that includes obedience to parents and the husband, which is restricted not to disobey God Almighty, and the legitimacy of the wife’s obedience to her husband is due to the guardianship that God Almighty bestowed on the husband. The discussion committee was chaired by Prof. Yasser Bassem Thanoun, with the membership of Assistant Professor Dr. Nadia Khair El-Din Aziz, Assistant Professor Dr. Taha Saleh Khalaf, and the membership and supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Nashwan Zaki Suleiman.
