A number of professors and instructors of our college participated in the scientific workshop held by the College of Political Science at the University of Mosul in cooperation with our college and with the Presidency of Health of Nineveh Governorate and the Jerusalem Center, which dealt with smoking as a social health scourge that a wide societal segment suffers from, with an explanation of its causes, which tobacco products are one of its main causes and what The resulting damages directly affect public health, in addition to many diseases, especially heart and lung diseases, cancer and atherosclerosis, in addition to the statistics of the World Health Organization, which confirmed that one person dies every six seconds due to smoking. The workshop also showed the pressures that health institutions and their cadres are exposed to due to Smoking, which constitutes a drain on human energies in its various categories, and the workshop witnessed a remarkable presence of researchers, academics and students who asked many questions and inquiries about the subject of the workshop, which were answered in detail by those in charge of it.
