The Department of Scientific Affairs at The University of Mosul Organizes a Workshop to Consolidate Research Efficiency in The Humanities Studies Exploiting Artificial Intelligence Techniques.
In its ongoing efforts to keep pace with the fast digital transformations in the scientific research environment, the Scientific Affairs Department at the University of Mosul, in collaboration with the Regional Studies Center, held a scientific workshop entitled “Enhancing Research Efficiency in the Humanities Using Artificial Intelligence Techniques” on Sunday, March 8, 2026.
The workshop was presented by Dr. Rasha Khalid Sabri, Head of Scientific Affairs at the University Presidency, and Dr. Faten Aziz Mustafa, Head of the Scientific Research Support Unit. It witnessed active participation from faculty members and researchers who are interested in developing their methodological tools.
The workshop highlighted the growing role of artificial intelligence in developing humanities research, from accelerating data analysis and holding references to investigating emerging research trends and improving the quality of academic writing. The workshop also dedicated significant time to debating mechanisms for the responsible and ethical use of these technologies to make sure that the preservation of scientific integrity and the originality of research outputs. The workshop’s outcomes affirmed that integrating artificial intelligence technologies into research methodologies represents a qualitative leap towards an innovative and highly efficient scientific environment. This positively impacts the volume of scientific output and enhances opportunities for publishing research in reputable international journals.
This event is part of a series of strategic activities implemented by the Department of Scientific Affairs to empower researchers and develop their digital skills, that is compatible with the Sustainable Development Goals, specifically Goal 4 (Quality Education), Goal 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure), and Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals). Ultimately, this initiative embodies the University of Mosul’s comprehensive vision for realizing digital transformation and producing knowledge that serves society and boosts development paths.
