Iraqi Journal of Veterinary Sciences Celebrates its 31st Anniversary

This year we celebrate the 31stanniversary of thethe Iraqi Journal of Veterinary Sciences, which launched in 1988.When the university of Mosul, College of Veterinary Medicine published its own journal first surfaced, it was being fair to say that not everyone was wildly enthusiastic. However, in the year 2009, The journal has been indexed in Scopus and becoming the first Iraqi journal to enter this well-known world database.Founding editor Professor Fuad Qasim Muhammad, the editor-in-chief who was played important role to introducing the journal to this container. In 2019, the Iraqi Journal of Veterinary Sciencesmoved to the world of receiving, evaluating and distributing research digitally. The journal has become a distinguished site on the global network through which researchers can send their research for evaluation and publication and it has become visible by all researchers around the world. In 2019, Iraqi Journal of Veterinary Sciencehas been publishing a 333 articles relating to veterinary research topics. Because of the effective leadership and dedicated efforts of the founding editor and our colleagues, there was a sense that the journal was poised for a period of spectacular growth.Today, as we look back over our first years, we see that our premise was correct. In a short time, the journal has risen from nothing to become a leading publication in veterinary science in Iraq. Numbers for submissions, publications, internet access, downloads, and citations all have reached significant levels and continue to increase. In doing so, we recognize that such a 31-year history would not have been possible without close and fruitful collaboration between authors, reviewers, editorial board and publisher.I would like to appreciate professor Dr. Fouad Qasim Muhammad for his presidency of editing the Iraqi Journal of Veterinary Sciences in the last period. I also thank all the distinguished professors who had a prominent role through chaired by the Editorial Board of the Iraqi Journal of Veterinary Science.I conclude myEditorialwith words of appreciation to authors, reviewers, and readers, who have supported the Iraqi Journal of Veterinary Science through the years.Professor Dr. MuneerS.
