College of Veterinary Medicine in brief

The College of Veterinary Medicine, University of Mosul was established in 1976, this College aims to innovate world leadership in veterinary education, research and professional education. This college works on: 

1- To prepare veterinarians and scientific staff to promote animal health with significant influence on society’s food supply, and increasing animal’s productive efficiency.

2- To maintain human health by controlling common diseases transmitted from animals to humans and to control of foods from animal origin.

3- To prepare graduates to work in institutes, relevant research centres, and food and animal products industries.

4- To provide clinical services by our Veterinary Teaching Hospital and participate our students in the diagnosis and treatment of animal diseases.

5- Holding seminars and scientific conferences to educate the veterinarian and the citizens, and inform people in the field of veterinary medicine and the latest technologies in this field.

6- To encourage staff to participate in scientific conferences and seminars that are held inside and outside the country at the Arab and international levels, and to present their scientific products in those conferences.

7- Publishing a scientific journal (Iraqi Journal of Veterinary Sciences), and a monthly newsletter containing the news of the college.
