Breast Cancer Awareness Workshop

🌸 Awareness Carnival at the College of Veterinary Medicine – Pink October
At the end of Breast Cancer Awareness Month (October), the halls of the College of Veterinary Medicine were adorned in pink — the color symbolizing hope and life. The Women’s Affairs Unit in the college, in cooperation with Nineveh Health Directorate / Ibn Sina Teaching Hospital, organized an awareness workshop to mark the conclusion of the month.
🌸 The event began with a speech by the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Dhafer Mohammed Aziz, highlighting the university’s and the college’s role in organizing such awareness activities that target specific groups in the community. He welcomed Dr. Mirvet Basim Thanoon, a physician at Ibn Sina Hospital, and expressed his appreciation for her participation in the workshop.
🌸 Dr. Mirvet began the lecture by defining the disease, its risk factors, symptoms, and methods of prevention. She answered numerous questions and engaged in open discussion, joined by Dr. Hanaa Khalil Ismail, a faculty member in the Pathology Department.
🌸 Pink ribbons and informative brochures about breast cancer were distributed to the attendees, and educational posters were displayed by the students.
