A master’s thesis presented by Harikar Saleh Mahmoud, titled: “Gene Expression of LPL, APOE, APOB, and LDLR in Experimentally Induced Diabetes Mellitus and Dyslipidemia in Rats.”

The College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Mosul has discussed a master’s thesis titled:

“Gene Expression of LPL, APOE, APOB, and LDLR in Experimentally Induced Diabetes Mellitus and Dyslipidemia in Rats.”

The study was presented by student Harikar Saleh Mahmoud, specializing in Veterinary Biochemistry, on Tuesday, August 12, 2025.

The aim of the current study was to experimentally induce diabetes mellitus and dyslipidemia in laboratory rats and investigate the combined effects of both conditions on lipid metabolism. This was achieved by monitoring biochemical markers and the gene expression of LDLR, ApoB, ApoE, and LPL.

The results revealed various interactions in the metabolic pathways and gene expression patterns under investigation.

After the student defended his thesis with scientific rigor and confidence, and following thorough discussion by the committee, the thesis was accepted.
