The College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Mosul has discussed a master’s thesis titled:

“Evaluation of Immune Markers Associated with Infectious Bronchitis Vaccine in Broiler Chickens.”

The study was presented by student Nashwan Burhan Karim, specializing in Veterinary Microbiology, on Wednesday, August 13, 2025.

The study compared immune responses in broiler chickens vaccinated with different formulations of the Infectious Bronchitis Virus (IBV) vaccine.

  • Humoral immunity was assessed through antibody levels.
  • Innate immunity was evaluated via gene expression of TLR3 and TLR7.
  • Interleukin-6 (IL-6) levels were measured as an indicator of cytokine response.

All vaccines enhanced antibody production, with the combined classical and attenuated vaccine showing the strongest protective effect.

The findings highlight a balanced humoral and cellular immune response, contributing to improved vaccination strategies against IBV in poultry.
