A master’s thesis presented by Azar Salar Saber, titled: “Molecular detection of enterotoxins (SEA, SEB, SEC, SEE, TSST) in Staphylococcus aureus isolated from restaurants”

The College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Mosul discussed the master’s thesis titled:
“Molecular detection of enterotoxins (SEA, SEB, SEC, SEE, TSST) in Staphylococcus aureus isolated from restaurants”
This study was submitted by student Azar Salar Saber, specializing in Veterinary Public Health, on Tuesday, September 2, 2025.
The study aimed to isolate and identify Staphylococcus aureus bacteria from various samples collected from restaurants in different areas of Erbil Governorate, Kurdistan Region of Iraq. Additionally, the study sought to detect genes encoding virulence factors and the genes responsible for toxin production. It also aimed to explore genetic relationships between the isolates in this study and those identified in different regions around the world.
The discussion committee consisted of the following esteemed members:

- Asst. Prof. Dr. Omar Hashim Sheet (College of Veterinary Medicine – University of Mosul) – Member and Supervisor.
The committee was distinguished by the participation of Prof. Dr. Amer Abdulhaq Abdulmawjood (Veterinary Microbiology – University of Veterinary Medicine, Hanover, Germany), who joined the full discussion remotely via electronic platforms. His virtual presence contributed to supporting the scientific journey and enhancing communication with researchers and professors from abroad.
After the student defended his thesis with scientific rigor and confidence, and following the committee’s discussion, the thesis was accepted.
