Participation of Faculty Members from the College of Veterinary Medicine in the World Small Animal Veterinary Association (WSAVA) Congress

Professor Dr. Laith Mahmood Al-Qattan (Department of Surgery and Animal Reproduction), Professor Dr. Dhyaa Mohammad Taher (Department of Veterinary Public Health), and Professor Dr. Karam Hashem Al-Mallah (Department of pathology and Poultry Diseases) participated in the 50th Congress of the World Small Animal Veterinary Association (WSAVA), held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from 25 to 27 September 2025. The event brought together more than 300 researchers and academics from various universities around the world.

 

This participation constitutes an active contribution to advancing scientific research in veterinary medicine through the exchange of ideas and experiences at the international level, in addition to networking with researchers from around the globe and attending high-level lectures delivered by leading specialists in this field.

 

The congress also included a field visit to the Veterinary Hospital in Rio de Janeiro, which allowed participants to become acquainted with the latest equipment and services provided in the field of small animal medicine.

 

This participation is part of the College’s ongoing efforts to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-Being), Goal 4 (Quality Education), and Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
