“The University in Service of the Community”
As part of the voluntary initiatives undertaken by the College of Veterinary Medicine to serve the community, and within the Bridges of Mercy project, a team of the college’s students—supervised by Asst. Prof. Dr. Omar Ahmed Al‑Mulla from the Department of Veterinary Public Health—conducted a visit on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, to the Al‑Saadoun Model Private Slaughterhouse in the city of Mosul.
The visit included distributing scientific awareness leaflets to the slaughterhouse staff, in addition to providing guidance and advice on proper handling of animals before, during, and after slaughter, with the aim of ensuring safe, uncontaminated meat and contributing to the enhancement of public health and food safety.
