Higher Diploma Thesis Defense: Sustainable Peace and National Identity in Iraq
Mosul, Iraq – October 27, 2025 – The Department of Sociology at the College of Arts successfully hosted the defense of a Higher Diploma thesis titled: “Sustainable Peace and Its Implications for National Identity in Iraq: A Field Study.”
The defense proceedings took place on Monday, October 27, 2025.
The event saw attendance from the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Hatem Fahd Al-Ta’ee, the Head of the Department, Dr. Firas Abbas Fadhel, and several faculty members. The thesis, presented by the student Tariq Qahr Sabar, focuses on the critical interrelationship between achieving sustainable peace and the efforts required to preserve national identity within Iraq. The study utilized a comprehensive field methodology to analyze this complex social dynamic.
