The College of Basic Education at the University of Mosul discussed a master’s thesis on (The position of the Mamluk Sultans towards manifestations of evil in the Mamluk era 648-923 / 1250-1517), on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, in the (Political Sciences) hall in the college, and a number of the department’s lecturers attended part of it.
The thesis, submitted by the student (Ahmed Manaf Kanaan Al-Malah) from the (History) Department, aimed to (analyze the position of the Mamluk Sultans towards manifestations of evil).
The study addressed several axes, including: (Hisbah and the role of the Muhtasib, the role of the judiciary and penalties in reducing manifestations of evil).
The study reached several results, including: (Most sultans monopolized power over caring for the people, which led to the spread of evil in the joints of the state as well as its spread among the people).
The discussion committee was headed by Professor Dr. Arkan Taha Abdul and the membership of Assistant Professor Dr. Muhammad Maysar Muhammad Baha’ al-Din, Professor Dr. Yasser Abdul Jawad, and Professor Dr. Faiz Ali Bakhit as a member and supervisor…..
