Master’s thesis in the College of Basic Education on (The role of Himyar scholars in scientific life in Andalusia (316-422 AH / 928-1031 AH)).

The College of Basic Education at the University of Mosul discussed a master’s thesis on (thesis title) on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, in Al-Hadba Hall in the college.
The thesis, submitted by the student (Rabi’ Ismail Ahmed Ibrahim) from the History Department, aimed to trace the journey of the scholars of the Himyar tribe in Andalusia, and to monitor their scientific roles, whether through their journeys to seek and acquire knowledge, or through their contribution to disseminating it through teaching.
The study addressed several axes, including: Introduction: The historical roots of the Himyar tribe and its entry into Andalusia.
Chapter One: Centers of settlement of Himyar scholars in Andalusia.
Chapter Two: The scientific journeys of Himyar scholars
. Chapter Three: Contributions of Himyar scholars to religious sciences and Arabic language sciences.
Chapter Four: Contributions of Himyar scholars to the humanities and experimental sciences.
The study reached several conclusions, including: (The study concluded that the Himyar scholars had an active and influential role, and may have formed one of the links between the East and Andalusia).
The discussion committee was chaired by Professor Dr. Fayez Ali Bakhit, and included Professor Dr. Alia Hashem Thanoun, Professor Dr. Widad Kurdi Thilj, and Professor Dr. Fayza Hamza Abbas as members and supervisors.
