Master’s thesis in the College of Basic Education entitled (The Crisis of the Arab Intellectual in the Narratives of Nahed Al-Ramadani)

The College of Basic Education at the University of Mosul discussed a master’s thesis entitled (The Crisis of the Arab Intellectual in the Narratives of Nahed Al-Ramadan), on Monday, September 15, 2025, in the (Umm Al-Rabi’een) Hall in the college. The thesis, submitted by the student / (Farah Nashwan Taha) Department of (Arabic Language), aimed to analyze the crisis of the Arab intellectual as manifested in the narratives of Nahed Al-Ramadan, by revealing its psychological, social and political dimensions, and highlighting the role of narrative and symbolic structure in embodying this crisis. It also sought to clarify the relationship of the intellectual with authority and society, and to contribute to enriching critical studies of modern literature.

The study reached many results, including: (The crisis of the intellectual, according to Nahed Al-Ramadan, is a complex crisis in which psychological, social and political dimensions overlap, and that the intellectual appears in his texts as a troubled and alienated character, torn between fear and adherence to principles. This is what makes the crisis of the intellectual not an individual case, but rather an expression of a collective dilemma experienced by modern Arab reality).
The discussion committee was headed by Professor Dr. Nabhan Hassoun Abdullah, and the membership of Assistant Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus Saleh Al-Juraisi, Assistant Professor Dr. Bassam Khalaf Suleiman, and Assistant Professor Dr. Salem Najm Abdullah as a member and supervisor.
