Vision:
The Department of English Language at the College of Basic Education aspires to support the community by graduating individuals equipped with high-level language skills and expertise, enabling them to engage professionally in diverse fields related to English language teaching. The department aims to utilize modern trends and technology in education and seeks to prepare a generation of graduates qualified to engage in scientific research in the fields of English language and literature. It also strives to keep pace with modern, well-established research methodologies in the English language field, in addition to excelling in offering educational and research services in English studies.
2. Mission:


The Department of English Language at the College of Basic Education is committed to preparing competent students with the essential cognitive, scientific, and research skills in English language, English literature, linguistics, and translation. It encourages practically and academically students to become qualified educators, competitive in the job market, and capable of pursuing postgraduate studies and engaging in scientific research to serve the community. The department also aims to provide students with opportunities to develop their language skills—particularly listening, reading, writing, and speaking—which are essential for effective education and communication. Furthermore, it strives to enable students to engage in today’s globalized world, where English is widely used for communication, especially across social media platforms that may serve academic purposes. The department also seeks to enhance students’ understanding of English language and culture to ensure their proficiency as English speakers.

3. Objectives:
1. To prepare a generation of university-level teachers for elementary and intermediate education who are capable of teaching English language subjects at these critical educational stages.
2. To qualify students in English language skills to meet the challenges of contemporary life by equipping them with principles of systematic, organized thinking.
