The first beginnings of establishing the Department of History: The Department of History was established in 2004, and before that date it was merged under the name of the Department of Social Sciences. The number of faculty members in it is (34) male and female, and the department grants a Bachelor’s degree in basic education in the specialty of history. Evening classes have also been opened in the department since the 2017-2018 academic year. The department follows the semester system (courses), as the academic year is divided into two semesters. At the end of each semester, a final exam for the academic subject is conducted that includes the entire semester’s syllabus. In the eighth semester of the fourth semester, the student applies the application in primary and basic schools for a full semester until the end of the school exams. He also submits a research project to graduate in this academic year. The department opened a master’s degree in the year 2008-2009 with a specialization in (Islamic history), and it was also approved to open a master’s degree for the academic year 2020-2021 with a specialization in (modern history). It was also approved to open doctoral studies in the department in the specialty (Islamic History) starting from the academic year 2023-2024.
