In light of the quantitative expansion and qualitative development in the field of special education, and the accompanying steady increase in the demand for qualified teachers in the various fields of special education by the Ministry of Education and private agencies that serve people with special needs, and in view of the shortage of human resources, the College of Basic Education has worked to provide the educational field. With qualified cadres, the Department of Special Education was established in 1995, and the department awards a Bachelor of Education degree in special education. The number of teaching staff members is (13) male and female, of whom 6 hold a doctorate degree and 7 hold a master’s degree, including (1) who holds the rank of professor, (9) with the title of assistant professor, and (3) teachers. The master’s degree program was opened in the year 2001 – 2002 AD, specializing in (teaching methods in basic education in various specializations). In the year 2021-2022, doctoral studies were opened in the specialty (teaching methods in basic education). The number of postgraduate (doctoral) students for the year 2021-2022 is (5 male and female students), while for master’s studies their number is for the year 2021-2022 (17 male and female students). As for the students in the initial stages, they are as follows: the first in the morning, the number (54), the second in the morning, the number (45), the third in the morning, the number (65), and the fourth in the morning, the number (104).
