Vision, mission, and objectives

Vision:

Working to enhance the level of performance of the department by improving its graduates of teachers who are able to bear the burdens of education and advance it, in addition to reviewing curricula that keep pace with contemporary developments and improving the performance of instructors to represent the goals of the department and strive to achieve them.

Mission:

The Department of Arabic Language is a scientific and educational department that seeks to raise the level of teaching Arabic in the basic education stages, and deepen linguistic awareness in society as one of the components of comprehensive renaissance and an aspect of the nation’s civilized awareness. The department also works to promote linguistic and literary scientific research and serious participation in enabling the college students in all its departments to speak and write correct Arabic.

Objectives:

  • Graduating competent teachers and instructors who work to raise the level of teaching Arabic in primary schools.
  • Contributing to the formation of specialized cadres in language and literature through postgraduate studies.
  • Contributing to scientific activities by holding seminars and conferences in the department and supporting cultural and scientific life with the contributions of the department’s professors at the University of Mosul and other universities inside and outside Iraq.
  • Opening up to contemporary literary schools in linguistics and enabling teachers and students to understand them.
  • Encouraging scientific research in the fields of language and literature.
