Department of Mathematics

Vision:
The department aspires to advance students’ mathematical knowledge and develop
their competencies in both pure and applied mathematics, preparing them to serve
society and its institutions effectively.

Mission:
To prepare qualified university-level mathematics educators by equipping them
with foundational knowledge, scientific and logical thinking skills, research
capabilities in mathematical sciences, and the necessary communication skills to
engage with society in scientific contexts.

Objectives:
1- To prepare competent university-trained teachers with the necessary
pedagogical skills to teach mathematics effectively.
2- To foster scientific attitudes among students, enabling them to enhance their
abilities and pursue higher studies.
3- To provide students with the skills needed to approach and solve scientific
problems using sound scientific methods.
4- To cultivate students’ ability to innovate and develop educational tools for
teaching mathematics.
5- To modernize and continuously update the curricula in mathematics and
computer science.
6- To collaborate with all college departments to maintain and regularly
develop computing equipment.
7- To encourage participation in scientific conferences and seminars to stay
informed about contemporary developments in mathematical sciences,
teaching methodologies, and advancements in specialized subjects.
