PH.D. Dissertation Viva in the College of Education for Pure Science entitled ” Preparation and spectral study of a new series of heterocyclic
compounds using one-pot multicomponent reactions “The College of Education for Pure Science, University of Mosul, has done the PH.D. Dissertation Viva entitled ” Preparation and spectral study of a new series of heterocyclic compounds using one-pot multicomponent reactions “,On Wednesday, October 5, 2022, the College staff including the respected Dean of the College, Assistant Professor Dr. Qais Ismail Ibrahim, the Honorable Scientific Associate and Administrative Associate, the Honorable Head of the Department of Chemistry, and a number of the college’s teachers were attended the viva. In this study, presented by the PH.D. Student Falkenaz Rashid Qadir in the Department of Chemistry, One-pot multicomponent reactions were used to prepare the main unite bulding in this thesis represented by compound: -1-(4 amino phenyl)-2-(2-piperonal-5-yl)-4,5-diphenyl-5-hydroxy -1,2,5-trihydro-imidazole.Which preared through mixed equimolar from diketone compound (benzil),p-phenylene diamine,piperonal and ammonium acetate followed by microwave irradiation for (8 min) at power (270 watt). The compound (1) was then used in different routes to prepare various and variety series of hetrocyclic compounds, so this work including four main routes as show below:-
- The first rout: Synthesis of substituted 1,2,4-triazoles (8-10) through three
stages.- The second route: – Involving preparation of heterocyclic compounds five
and six membered ring through many stages.- The third route: This rout including the coupling reaction between the prepared diazonium salt (42) from compound no.(1) with substituted -2-amino thiazole to affored the compounds 2- amino-4-aryl-5-(4-(2- piperonal-5-yl)-5-hydroxy-4,5-diphenyl -2H-imidazol-1-yl) azo phenyl)-1,3-thiazole (49-54) and also through three stages
- The fourth route: This rout including using of compound no.(11) to prepare
the heterocyclic compounds five membered ring in different types and through many stages. All compounds were illustrated by a vailble physical and spectral methods represented by multing point (M.P.), thin layer chromatography (T.L.C) , Ultra violet (U.V), Infrared (FT-IR) and for some compounds the nuclear magnetic resonance measurement (1H-NMR) was done.The Viva committee was chaired by Prof. Dr. Rafed Kamal Jameel / AlNoor University College / Dentistry and the membership of Prof. Dr. Ibtihal Qahtan Abdalluh / University of Tikrit/ College of Science, Asst. Prof. Dr. Mohanad Yakdhan Saleh / University of Mosul /College of Education for Pure Science and under the supervision and membership of Asst. Prof. Dr. Shaymaa Khazaal Younis Al-Azzawi / University of Mosul / College of Science.
