Master Thesis Viva- Physics Department

Master Thesis Viva in the College of Education for Pure Science entitled ” Study of the Optical and Structural Properties of Silver Ag and Copper Cu Nanoparticles”The College of Education for Pure Science, University of Mosul, has done the Master Thesis Viva entitled ” Study of the Optical and Structural Properties of Silver Ag and Copper Cu Nanoparticles “,On Sunday, February 26, 2023, the College staff including the respected Dean of the College, Assistant Professor Dr. Qais Ismail Ibrahim, the Honorable Scientific Associate and Administrative Associate, the Honorable Head of the Department of Physics, and a number of the college’s teachers were attended the viva. This study, presented by the Master student Muna Talal Ibrahim Aluhaiby in the Department of Physics, shows the possibility of using pulsed laser in liquid (PLAL) to produce nanoparticles synthesized for silver and copper This method is considered effective, fast, unconventional, long-stability and non-toxic where a laser (Nd:YAG, Q-Switched, 1064 nm) and a laser card (260mJ) and specific pulses (50,100,150) pulses respectively, and the excision process was carried out at room temperature, through which the metal of silver and copper was immersed in distilled water no (ionic ) and after conducting a TEM examination on the prepared silver and copper solutions shows There are nanoparticles. The properties of the size as well as the surface morphology of the nanoparticles were then studied by the TEM permeable electron microscope, where the nanosolutions prepared by the visible/ultraviolet spectr photo meter were examined, and it was shown by examining that the shape of the silver nanoparticles is almost spherical at the energy used (260mJ), as well as the diameters of the nanoparticles were measured by the Image J program and the size rate of silver was (76. 4 nm) while the modifier for copper particles (52. 95 nm).The results of the spectroscopy (UV-Visible) showed that the peak of surface plasmon resonance (SPR) was for silver (408. 7 nm) for the pulse of 150, while the peak of surface plasmon resonance of copper (641. 8 nm) appeared at pulse 150, While the results of the tests of the scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and X-ray energy dispersion spectroscopy (EDS) showed that the copper nanopowder has a diameter rate of (82.68 nm) and the results (XRD) of the copper nanopowder showed that the material is cubic shaped crystalline centered on faces, with a polycrystalline composition, and the results of the copper nanopowder (EDS) showed that copper is present at 40.99%.The Viva committee was chaired by Prof. Dr. Raad Ahmed Rasool/ University of Mosul/ College of Education for Pure Science and the membership of Assist. Prof. Dr. Rafi Younis Jassim/ University of Tikrit/ College of Sciences, Assist. Prof. Dr. Mahmoud Ahmed Hammoud / University of Mosul/ College of Sciences and under the supervision and membership of Lecturer. Dr. Mutaz Salih Al-juboori/ University of Mosul / College of Education for Pure Science.
