” Isolation and Biochemical and Molecular Characterization of Local Rhizobial Isolates ”
The College of Education for Pure Science, University of Mosul, has done the Master Thesis Viva entitled ” Isolation and Biochemical and Molecular Characterization of Local Rhizobial Isolates “,
On Monday, September 18, 2023, the respected Dean of the College, Assistant Professor Dr. Qais Ismail Ibrahim, the Honorable Scientific Associate and Administrative Associate, the Honorable Head of the Department of Biology, and a number of the college’s teachers were attended the viva.
This study, presented by the M.Sc. Student Mohammed Hamid Jasim Al-Jobouri in the Department of Biology, included isolation of the isolates of twenty five rhizobial bacteria from root nodules of different Leguminous nitrogen fixer plants which the collected from different agricultural and ecological areas from Nineveh governorate-Iraq. Biochemical test results revealed that all the isolates have the ability to grow on Rhizobial minimal medium. Also results revealed that ability of all isolates to utilize citrate as sole carbon course with exception to R. Leguminosaran bv. trifolii bacteria isolate MH3 which isolated from root. nodules of Trifolium alexandrimum L. and bacteria Ensifer meliloti MH5 and MH6 isolates.
