Master’s Thesis at the College of Education for Pure Sciences, Department of Mathematics…

In fulfillment of the fourth goal of the Sustainable Development Goals (quality education), a master’s thesis entitled “A Teaching Strategy Based on the Theory of Successful Intelligence and Its Impact on Second-Year Intermediate Students’ Achievement in Mathematics and the Development of Their Reflective Thinking” was defended at the College of Education for Pure Sciences at the University of Mosul on Thursday, August 7, 2025.
Part of the thesis defense was attended by the Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs, Assistant Professor Dr. Azzam Salahuddin Younis, and a number of department faculty members. The study, presented by the student Bahaa Mohsen Younis Attiya from the Department of Mathematics, examined a teaching strategy based on the theory of successful intelligence and its impact on the achievement of second-grade middle school students in mathematics and the development of their reflective thinking. A purposive sample of second-grade middle school students at Al-Adala Secondary School for Boys in Nineveh Governorate/Hadr District/Qayyarah Subdistrict was selected for the academic year 2024-2025. The total sample size was (67) students. The two research groups were matched based on the variables of (intelligence, general average for the first grade of middle school, achievement in mathematics for the first grade of middle school, age, prior reflective thinking, and the educational level of the father and mother).
The discussion committee was chaired by Professor Dr. Ahmed Jawhar Muhammad, with Professor Dr. Enas Younis Mustafa and Lecturer Dr. Ibrahim Abdul-Ghani Ibrahim as members, and Assistant Professor Dr. Asim Ahmed Khalil and Professor Dr. Ammar Siddeeq Mahmoud as both members and supervisors.
The master’s thesis was accepted. Congratulations to the student and his supervisors on this scientific achievement.
