Master’s Thesis at the College of Education for Pure Sciences, Department of Biology…

In fulfillment of the fourth goal (Quality Education) of the Sustainable Development Goals, a master’s thesis entitled “The Toxic Effect of Lead Chloride on Some Quail Tissues and the Protective Role of Borage Plant” was defended at the College of Education for Pure Sciences at the University of Mosul on Wednesday, September 3, 2025.
Part of the thesis defense was attended by the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Jassim Fatehi Ali, the Head of the Chemistry Department, Assistant Professor Dr. Omar Thanoon Ali, and a number of department faculty members.
The study, submitted by the student Maha Emad Mohamed Mahmoud from the Department of Biology, examined the physiological, macroscopic, histopathological, and immunochemical effects of lead chloride (PbCl2) on the tissues of some organs of the Japanese quail (Coturnix coturnix japonica). It also examined the protective role of the aqueous extract of the leaves of the borage plant (Borago officinalis) against these effects. This study involved the use of 60 quail of both sexes.
